UPDATE: April 22, 2013 – 2 weeks old

Jake is doing well. Eyes are open and he’s propelling himself around very well with the rest of his siblings. He’s gaining weight, up to 1.8 lbs, so doing well. He is getting handle by me once a day. He is placed on my arm on his back and his little toes are being touched and massaged a bit. He’s also known to get hugs and kisses!

UPDATE – MAY 5, 2013 – 4 weeks old

Jake is doing well. He’s losing his spot on his neck. He has a nice, easy-going temperament so far. Didn’t object to being placed on his back for a few seconds, although he did wiggle a little bit.

UPDATE: 6/27/2013 – 11 WEEKS OLD

Jake is coming along really well. He’s built a lot like Chance and Coco and I believe he will be around 15″ – 16″ at maturity. Good temperament, a bit independent, but that’s typical of a Rat Terrier. He comes well when called, and is learning the ‘sit’ command. He’ll be a great pup for any performance events, and he may even do well in the conformation ring.

  1. Jake has been such a delightful blessing in our lives. I wondered if his being 4 1/2 months old when we got him was going to be okay, and oh my goodness… Tammy has told him well. When folks meet Jake, their statement generally is, “He is quite handsome, and very polite!” As for me, Jake has provided much appreciated laughter and joy. Us flatlanders are ever so grateful for this addition to our family!
